“Project Glasswing is an urgent attempt to put these capabilities to work for defensive purposes,” Anthropic wrote, warning that the fallout for economies, public safety, and national security could be severe if such capability proliferates without safeguards.
There is real substance here. If frontier models really can surface vulnerabilities that survived decades of human review and millions of automated tests, then cyber defense may be one of the first domains where top-tier AI creates immediate asymmetry. But strategically, this is also a powerful repositioning move. Anthropic is no longer just selling a polite, careful assistant. It is making a case that Claude can become part of the security infrastructure of governments and enterprises.

The new partnership gives Meta access to initial deployments of Nvidia’s next-generation Vera Rubin chips, which Reuters described as twice as fast as the current Blackwell generation. CoreWeave said the agreement shows leading companies are choosing its cloud for their most demanding AI workloads.
“This is another example that leading companies are choosing CoreWeave’s AI cloud to run their most demanding workloads,” CoreWeave CEO Michael Intrator said in a statement reported by Reuters.
The immediate reading is obvious. Meta is spending aggressively because it wants more model training and inference capacity after last year’s weaker Llama cycle. But the deeper point is about market mechanics. Large model developers are increasingly reserving the future before it ships. They are not just buying compute. Instead, a regime where labs publish reports, avoid reckless conduct, and preserve room for innovation while limiting catastrophic downside liability. That is a very particular policy position, and it is one that will be contested.
