Release v2026.2.6: Model Diversity & Usage Visibility

OpenClaw v2026.2.6 expands model support and adds much-requested usage monitoring:

New Model Support:

  • Anthropic Opus 4.6 — forward-compatible fallbacks for the latest Claude model
  • OpenAI Codex gpt-5.3-codex — support for OpenAI's new ultra-fast coding model
  • xAI Grok — full provider support for Elon Musk's xAI platform

Token Usage Dashboard: The Web UI now includes a token usage dashboard, giving you visibility into how much each model and each agent session is consuming. Essential for cost management when running multiple agents across different providers.

Voyage AI Memory: Native support for Voyage AI embeddings in the memory system, providing high-quality semantic search across your agent's memory stores.

Security Fixes: Auth required for Gateway canvas/A2UI assets, skill/plugin code safety scanner added, and credentials redacted from config.get responses.

SEN-X Take

The xAI Grok addition is strategically important — OpenClaw now supports all major frontier model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI) plus OpenRouter for access to 100+ models. The token dashboard addresses one of the top enterprise concerns: cost visibility. We recommend all our clients upgrade to this version for the dashboard alone.

🔒 Security Tip of the Day

Monitor Your Token Usage for Anomalies

The new token dashboard isn't just for cost management — it's a security tool. Unusual spikes in token usage can indicate prompt injection attacks, recursive agent loops, or unauthorized usage of your API keys.

What to watch for: Sudden spikes in usage, tokens consumed during hours you're not active, sessions from unknown channels, and high context window consumption that might indicate context poisoning attempts.

⭐ Skill of the Day: cellcog

🔧 cellcog

What it does: Currently #1 on the DeepResearch Bench (February 2026). CellCog enhances your agent's deep research capabilities — systematic investigation, source triangulation, and comprehensive report generation.

Install: npx clawhub@latest install cellcog

Why we like it: Deep research is one of the highest-value agent tasks. CellCog's benchmark results suggest it's the best-in-class option for agents that need to conduct thorough, multi-source investigations.

👥 Community Highlights

The xAI Grok addition generated significant discussion about model diversity. Community members reported testing the same tasks across Claude, GPT, and Grok to compare results — something uniquely enabled by OpenClaw's model-agnostic architecture.

🌐 Ecosystem News

OpenRouter Integration: With Grok now natively supported, OpenClaw users have access to frontier models through both direct provider APIs and OpenRouter, which provides access to 100+ additional models. The flexibility to switch models per-agent or even per-session is becoming a key differentiator.
